01 — The Fee in Dollars

See What the Difference Means

Keep more of your money invested: our 0.50% annual advisory fee is half a 1.00% fee on the same portfolio value.

On a $1 million portfolio, that is $5,000 less in annual advisory fees.

*Annual illustrations assume a constant portfolio value and exclude fund expenses and third-party charges. Actual fees depend on assets under management and your advisory agreement. The 1.00% rate is an example, not an industry average; services and fee schedules vary.

Lower fees leave more money available to stay invested. Over time, those dollars can also participate in investment growth.

04 — Questions & Answers

Before You Get Started

How is the advisory fee calculated?

Gold Coast’s standard annual advisory fee is 0.50% of the assets we manage for you. For example, a portfolio valued at $1 million throughout the year would have an annual advisory fee of $5,000. Your actual fee varies with the value of the assets under management, according to your advisory agreement.

The fee covers ongoing portfolio management and investment guidance within one wealth management relationship. Your goals, retirement plans, cash needs and relevant tax considerations help shape how we manage your investments. We explain the calculation and billing terms before you become a client.

Are investment expenses included in the 0.50% fee?

No. Underlying investment expenses and any applicable third-party charges are separate from Gold Coast’s advisory fee. For example, mutual funds and ETFs have operating expenses reflected in their returns. Depending on your investments and account activity, transaction or account-related charges may also apply.

We consider these costs when selecting investments and making portfolio changes. Our focus is on what you pay overall and whether an investment’s role in your portfolio justifies its cost.

Does Gold Coast receive commissions from investments?

No. Gold Coast does not earn commissions from investment recommendations. We are paid through the advisory fee for managing your portfolio and providing ongoing investment guidance.

As an independent fiduciary, we have an obligation to act in your best interests. Investment decisions are guided by your goals, circumstances and portfolio needs. You work directly with Dragan Mark Filipovic, CFA®, the founder and investment manager responsible for your portfolio.

Can you help me understand what I am paying my current advisor?

Yes. A complimentary Portfolio Second Opinion can help you understand your advisory fee, underlying fund expenses and other identifiable investment charges. Recent account statements and your current advisor’s fee schedule or agreement can help us put those costs into dollars.

We also consider what you receive for those fees, how your investments support your goals, and potential costs or taxes associated with making changes. You can then compare your current arrangement with Gold Coast’s approach. There is no obligation to change advisors, transfer assets or become a client.
